The girlies are preparing for their winter arcs and I’m 1000% here for it. That said, starting a new challenge when your foundation isn’t there is not super realistic. Especially when your routines consist of doomscrolling, inconsistent habits, and wasting your nights away. Building a solid nighttime routine is the first step to being the woman who wakes up at 5 AM and lives three lives before 9 AM. So, if you’re searching for HER, you can find her with these 3 ways to build a solid nighttime routine.
1. Glamourize Your Nights
The fall and winter months are for leaning into the romanticism inside you. The days get shorter, the food gets better, and the desire for self-intimacy grows more and more daily. Get creative and think of your evenings as more than just basic downtime. Turn the lights down, try a new recipe, and find a feel-good show to binge. Maybe schedule some time each evening to practice that new hobby you bought all the supplies for and never gave a second thought to -scrapbooking I’m coming for you lol. Whatever it is, make sure it’s the perfect way to decompress. Even the most basic nighttime routine includes lighting a candle and dimming the lights.
2. Unplug & Let it Go
My nighttime “routine” is often interrupted by the sound of the for you page. I’ll admit, embarrassingly, TikTok gets so much of my screen time, that I don’t even bother looking at that notification at the end of the week. Sometimes, our favorite pastime can be our biggest downfall and I’ve learned that I need to be treated like an iPad toddler and set limits for my apps. Otherwise, insomnia will take over and I’m no good the next day. Swap your screen time for reading, or journaling, and watch how much easier it is to fall asleep (and wake up).
3. Skincare, Hygiene, & Next Day Planning
I wouldn’t be your favorite cozy beauty guru if I didn’t get into the best part of the routine. The part where I lay out my comfiest PJs, hop in the shower, and oil up while the bathroom is still hot. From facial cleansing to toning, to my topicals’ eye patches chile, I live for this part of the night. If you didn’t do the best job letting it go in your journal, doing your skincare helps you wash away the rest. It’s the perfect way to end your nighttime routine- fresh, calm, and peaceful.
